At your visit you may see a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) instead of a doctor. CNPs are registered nurses who have completed advanced education, are board certified, and are trained to diagnose and manage common medical conditions including chronic illnesses. CNPs collaborate with regular doctors to provide individualized care. They can be a patient’s primary care provider and can do almost everything doctor’s do.
