Primary Health Solutions to Focus Vaccine Efforts on the Underserved

With the approval of the new Coronavirus Relief Bill comes a new vaccination strategy.

Hamilton, OH - Since March of 2020 Primary Health Solutions (PHS) has responded to the pandemic, first as a community testing organization and then as a community vaccinator. But with the advent of the new Coronavirus relief bill, the Federally Qualified Health Center is moving from a community-based vaccine strategy to one that is focused on providing COVID-19 vaccines to the underserved populations who utilize the community health centers within their network.

"Throughout this pandemic, flexibility has been key." said Dr. Stephen Roller, Chief Clinical Officer/Chief of Operations. "We have been invited by HRSA to participate in the federal Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program, and will be receiving direct federal shipments of the vaccines. Our priority must now shift to serve our 36,000 patients."

The federal program was established to directly allocate COVID-19 vaccine to community health centers in order to ensure that the nation's underserved communities and those disproportionately affected by COVID-19 are equitably vaccinated.

PHS will continue to provide vaccine events for the community through April 23rd. At that time, those currently scheduled will have completed their 2nd dose. Patients will be scheduled for future vaccine events.

Patients of Primary Health Solutions will be contacted to schedule a vaccination appointment. All vaccines will be given in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the CDC and Ohio Department of Health.
